Application and Cancellation

The International Visit to the Farnborough International Airshow takes place from July the 25th (Thursday) to July 27th (Saturday) 2024.

  •  The participation fee is 100 €.
  •  Included are 2 nights staying, all breakfasts, and all travel costs during the event. Arrival and departure must be paid and self-organized by the participants.
  • The hotel for the nights is Sure Hotel, in Reading.

    The first round of applications opens.

    The applications are processed in a “first come- first served” way.

    The applications are processed as “first-come first-served”. To promote diversity priority will be given to the first (1) member of each (P)AS/AM/WG.

    A stated motivation will be mandatory in the application form. The IE WG reserves the right to deny any application that is not of sufficient quality.

    Confirmation emails for the applicants will be sent to each (P)AS.

    The (P)AS/AM/WG has the possibility to deliver a priority list for their participants within a deadline of 48 hours. Otherwise, a strictly “first come-first served” policy will be enacted. Once the membership is confirmed, personal confirmation emails with a reminder of the cancellation rules plus the payment information will be sent to every accepted participant in this first round.

The participation fee is 100€ (EUR 100). It covers two (2) nights (25th-27th of July 2024) of accommodation, breakfast and transportation to the venue of the FIA.

The payment information regarding the participation fee will be provided to the participants via email, once confirmed.

Arrival and departure will be paid for by the participants and must be arranged by them.

EUROAVIA will not provide accommodation outside of the event dates. However, if a participant needs to stay extra days, EUROAVIA will assist them in finding proper accommodation.

In the case that a member has been confirmed by the organizing committee to participate in the Farnborough International Airshow Field Trip but, for any reason, is unable to participate in the event, there is an option of cancelling the participation.

In order to do so, the member will have to send an email to iewg@euroavia.eu stating the reason for the cancellation and the participation fee will be fully paid.

If the member cancels their participation, the respective Local Group or WG is responsible for transferring the cancellation fee to the event organisers, under the condition that their place cannot be filled by someone else on the waiting list.

Participants will have the possibility to cancel within one (1) week from receiving the acceptance email without paying a cancellation fee.

How to get there:

The meeting point is the hotel where we will spend the nights: Sure Hotel in Reading.

The closest airports to Reading are the London ones, in order of preference:

Heathrow: ≈ 45min – 30€ Elizabeth Line

Gatwick: ≈ 1h 30m – 30€ Great Western Service train

Stansted – Luton: ≈ 2h – 30€ Get to London via train or bus and Elizabeth Line

Once at the Reading Station take the 21 Claret Bus untill Vicarage Road.
